Discovery Bay Property Owners’ Association

Unfortunately, there is some highly distorted information circulating about the DBPOA that could be misleading our property owners and is being addressed by the association’s attorney.

This message is from the only legally formed Discovery Bay Property Owners’ Association Board of Directors and is to give notice that Director Nugent has no legal authority to appoint another board and no authority to convene any board meeting.

The current Board members with legal standing are Ward Messersmith, President; Lowel Onstad , Treasurer; Bob White, Secretary; Bobbi Nugent and Larry Green.

This notice is also to announce the upcoming Board election to be held during the month of August 2010. There will be three openings and Association members in good standing are encouraged to consider running for one of these seats. The process of application to be on the ballot is to forward a letter of application to the Discovery Bay Property Owners’ Association at P. O. Box 1977, Discovery Bay CA 94505, with the cutoff date for applying being August 20th, 2010. We encourage all to participate in the election process by voting during September.

business. An open forum along with an update of Board goals will be included in
the next regular meeting.

DBPOA would like to welcome it’s new board members  Bob White, Lowell Onstad, Larry Green, Pete Baylacq, and  Ward Messersmith.

We would also ask that all the property owners please be patient while we adjust to the unexpected resignation of Vicki because of doctors orders. She will be missed at DBPOA, and we pray for her recovery.

Library.

WE NEED INPUT FROM THE COMMUNITY ON CHARTING OUR FUTURE

As most of you know a few property owners have incessantly disrupted the DBPOA meetings and 115 signed a

petition for a recall of five of the six Board members. Rather than hold an expensive recall election the five Board members are resigning and asking concerned property owners to volunteer as replacement Board members.

These five Board members have been grossly mischaracterized. They are good people who stepped forward

to help our community when no-one else would and unfortunately encountered constant disruptions to the

work the signed up to do. They have reached out to the “coalition” to find common ground with no reasonable

response.

This situation is critical because, if the Board resigns without replacements stepping forward, the people

who have sought to eliminate the Property Owners Association might get appointed to the Board and take our community in a direction none of us will want.

If enough supporters of the Board show up to provide balance at this meeting and see first hand the people who have been harassing the Board and hear the Boards story, I believe our community could well avoid a very precarious situation.

There will be a special meeting of DBPOA On Wednesday March 10th at 7:00pm at the Presbyterian Church  to discuss the recall.
